Jugend Musiziert
Founded in 1963, Jugend Musiziert is Germany’s largest and most popular music competition for young musicians , it attracts over 25,000 vocalists and instrumentalists every year.
Operating on a regional and national level, the competition promotes young talent in making music and helps many entrants to reach professional levels. 2013 marks the 50th anniversary of the programme, since the inception of Jugend musiziert, over 500,000 people have participated and benefited from this ambitious and popular scheme. The Federal President is the patron of Jugend musiziert whilst the German Music Council organises and manages the national competition. Finance is provided by the Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.
Yamaha extends valuable and extensive support to this highly regarded and innovative music competition. Such support includes a programme of workshops for entrants, led by prominent university professors and professional musicians. Many students from Yamaha Music Schools and the Class Band project “BläserKlasse” regularly enter the competition. The national scope, profile and prestige of the programme provides a benchmark and insight into the quality of Yamaha’s many music learning programmes.
