Extra Plug-Ins and New Licensing Makes VST Rack V2.0 Even More Versatile
November 19, 2024. Shizuoka, Japan. Yamaha is pleased to announce a free update to Version 2.0 of its VST Rack Pro and Elements software, including newly-bundled selections of plug-ins.
VST Rack allows users the freedom and flexibility to construct a plug-in environment in either Mac or Windows, adding their favorite VST plug-ins to any mixing situation and easily creating bespoke effects racks. VST Rack helps to deliver superb sound in any situation.
Bundled with the compact RUio16-D audio interface, VST Rack Pro Version 2.0 adds eight new VST plug-ins, making a total of 41. The new plug-ins include Yamaha’s MBC4 multi-band compressor and the FBS 7 notch filter feedback canceller with auto-detection, which can effectively suppress feedback in Fixed and Dynamic modes.
Also included for the first time are Steinberg’s Magneto II, which simulates the saturation and compression of recording on analogue tape machines, the VoiceDesigner pitch shifter and StereoEnhancer, which enriches the spaciousness and dimensionality of the sound.
Meanwhile Version 2.0 of VST Rack Elements, which is bundled with the versatile DM3 series and DM7 series digital mixing consoles, adds three enhanced versions of Yamaha’s highly regarded REV-X reverb.
VST Rack Pro V2.0 now uses Steinberg Licensing, a software licensing system which eliminates the need for a physical USB licenser. With the end of the old eLicenser service in May 2025, customers using VST Rack Pro V1.0 will need to download the free update to V2.0 by that date.
“VST Rack V2.0 is a significant update. Equipped with a range of stunning new plug-ins and rock solid, state-of-the-art license management technology, production quality and ease of use are raised to new levels,” says Steinberg’s Clyde Sendke, managing director at Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH.
“We are very pleased to announce the Version 2 update of VST Rack Pro and Elements,” adds Thomas Hemery, Senior General Manager at Yamaha’s Professional Solutions Division.
“With newly added plug-ins, VST Rack can deliver a wider range of sound expression and, by adopting Steinberg Licensing, provides more flexible license management. This is another example of Yamaha’s commitment to always offering products which deliver the most precise sound-shaping tools, which help users to create precisely sound they want.”
