Thank you for your continued use of the Yamaha YC Series Stage Keyboard.

This Readme file contains important information about the YC88 YC73 YC61 V2.00 Operating System update and the updating process. 
Please read this document carefully before updating your YC stage keyboard.


NOTICE:
- This updater is only for the YC stage keyboard.
- This updater is to be used at the user's own risk.
- All the Live Set Sounds and the settings of MENU screens and SETTINGS screens will be initialized by this updater. Please make sure that you have saved all User data to a USB flash drive before performing this update. 
- The unit may become inoperable if the electrical supply is interrupted while running the updater (by disconnecting the AC cord, etc.). If this happens, run the updater again from the first step. 
- If the unit does not function after running the updater, please contact your nearest Yamaha service center.

This update is applicable to the following version: 
YC88 YC73 YC61 with firmware versions earlier than V2.00


How to check the version of your YC

1. Press the [MENU] button.
2. Select the “Version Info” -> Press the [ENTER] button.
3. The following message appears on the screen:
      ---------------------
          Version Info

      Firmware V*.**.*
         
      (C)2020
      Yamaha Corporation
      ---------------------

The unit's version is indicated by “Firmware v*.**.*”
Only the numbers up to the two decimal places after the first dot are important in reading the version number, you can ignore the numbers after the second dot. 
Ex.) 1.02.1 =1.02 ,  1.10.0= 1.10


Updating Procedure

  NOTICE: 
     All the Live Set Sounds and the settings of MENU screens and SETTINGS screens will be initialized by this updater. 
     Please make sure that you save all User data to a USB flash drive before performing this update. 
    

  Required Items
   - One USB flash drive of over 2GB capacity formatted on the YC
* A list of confirmed USB devices is provided on the product download page.

1. After downloading, copy the following uncompressed files to a USB flash drive that has been formatted on the YC61. No other files should be present on the USB flash drive.

2. Power off the YC.

3. Connect the USB flash drive prepared in step 1 to the USB [TO DEVICE] terminal of the YC. Power on the YC while holding down the [MENU] and [STORE] buttons until the “YAMAHA” logo appears on screen.
   In this step, do not press any buttons other than the [MENU] or [STORE] buttons.

4. The YC OS updater will begin with a “Now loading” message and the following.
    “Current Ver” indicates the current version of the YC, and “New” indicates the updater version.
    Press the [ENTER] button to start the update.
    Press the [EXIT] button to cancel.

       [ENTER] : Start
       [EXIT]  : Reboot
      ---------------------

5. After the [ENTER] button is pressed, the following message will appear.

      --------------------- 
            Updater 
        All User memory 
      will be initialized. 
       [ENTER] : Continue 
       [EXIT]  : Reboot 
      ---------------------

   Press the [ENTER] button again to execute the update. All the Live Set Sounds and the settings of MENU screens and SETTINGS screens will be initialized.
   Press the [EXIT] button to cancel the update.

6. The following message will appear when the update is completed.
    Confirm that the Current Ver is the updater version.

      ---------------------
            Updater
      Current Ver : *.**.*
         
           Completed.
        Please turn off.
      ---------------------

 NOTICE: 
 DO NOT power off or remove the USB flash drive from the YC until the “Completed. Please turn off.” message appears. If power is accidently interrupted while running the updater (by disconnecting the AC cord, etc.),
 the unit may become inoperable. If this happens, run the updater again. If the unit still does not function after doing this, please contact your nearest Yamaha service center.

7. Turn off the YC and remove the USB flash drive.

8. Power on the YC.

This completes the update process.

- A new Vibrato/Chorus effect has been added to the FM Organ Voices.
- A new Pan setting has been added to the Live Set Sound settings.
- A new function that allows simultaneous changing of parameters in the Keys Section has been added.
- A new function allows maintaining the rotation speed of the rotary speaker effect has been added.
- New Live Set Sounds have been added.
- New Voices have been added.

< V1.10 to V1.20 >
New features;
- A new rotary speaker effect has been added.
- New FM organ types have been added.
- A new setting “FM Color Type” has been added to the “Drawbar Color” setting.
- Three EQs have been added to the effect types.
- A new setting “Touch Sensitivity” has been added to the Settings.
- The locations in the menu of “EG Control” and “Filter Control” have been changed.
- New Live Set Sounds have been added.
- New Voices have been added.

Fixed problems;
- Fixed minor problems.


< V1.02 to V1.10 >
New features;
- The setting method of vibrato (CC # 1: Modulation) has been changed.
- Operability has been improved.
- New Live Set Sounds have been added.
- New Voices have been added.


< V1.00 to V1.02 >
Fixed problems;
- Reduced the possibility of clipping noise.
- Changed the default value of the [MENU] -> “General” -> “I/O Volume” -> “Output” from -6 dB to 0 dB.
- Fixed other minor problems.
